We believe parents should not have to make the choice between strong Christian education and academic rigor. We want children to FLOURISH — academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Our elementary program at Lakewood Park is a WHOLE-CHILD, Christian education that promotes excellence, preserves values, and protects the BEST PARTS OF BEING A KID.
OUR APPROACH
Our elementary program focuses on kindergarten through 4th grade as these years are a critical time for establishing strong roots in core subjects and igniting interest in the more creative pursuits of art, music, and interdisciplinary learning.

ACADEMIC ADVANCEMENT
Whether it’s accelerated coursework or academic support, we ensure students can be successful in the classroom by tailoring our program to every learning style. Our curriculum is rooted in a 21st-century approach and meets the standards set by the state of Indiana. From studying science as God’s creation to how God demonstrates an orderly world in math concepts, Lakewood Park students are always learning from a biblical perspective.
COMMUNITY & CHARACTER
At Lakewood Park, character development is part of our curriculum, community, and culture. We are educating tomorrow’s leaders, knowing they will pursue the character of Christ and be transformed people in a global society. Our elementary students are given weekly opportunities to mentor or be mentored. We also put our faith into action through grade-specific service projects and mission work.
COMMUNITY & CHARACTER
Learning at Lakewood isn’t confined to the four walls of the classroom. We teach our elementary students collaboration, resourcefulness, and flexibility through real-world problem solving, field trips, and nature walks on our 180-acre campus. An on-campus highlight is The Maple Syrup Experience with Dr. Burris. In this activity, students learn to tap trees, boil sap, and bottle maple syrup! Other field trips include Science Central, The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, History Museum, a one-room schoolhouse, Sauder Village, and more! We believe that students should get the opportunity to try new things. Our sports teams have a no-cut policy so that students have an opportunity to try a new sport and learn how to be part of a team.
